Easy Halloween Dinner Inspiration

Hi there, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted and I’m so glad to be back! I wanted to share some last minute Halloween dinner inspiration ideas. This year, my boys have been enjoying sending letters to people in the mail. They asked to send Halloween party invitations this year and I happily went along.

I have to admit, I did hardly any preparation prior to the day of our Halloween dinner and decided to just wing it. Below, I’ll share links to a few of the recipes I used. This dinner was super casual, fun and no-stress.

Decorations I used what I had on hand to create something fun. I pulled out candle sticks, black placemats and black and white buffalo check tea towels I had tucked away in a cabinet. Our silly skeleton, Frank Boneapart, has been making his daily appearance all around the house this October. He was the perfect addition to the dinner table decor. I also printed out simple place cards to pull everything together. I had a bag of gummy fangs I had purchased earlier this month at HomeGoods, so I poured them into a small dish, scattered them around my favorite candle and added a few candy eyeballs.

Food I kept the menu super simple and coooked up a few of our favorite family recipes. My boys requested “bat noodle” soup, so I made a big pot of our favorite chicken noodle. Sometimes, I make homemade noodles for our chicken soup. You can even use a small cookie cutter to cut out bat or festive shaped noodles. Since time was running short, I added bow tie pasta and called them bats. On the side, I served our very favorite French bread. This recipe is a staple in our house and perfect for dipping in hearty soups and stews. For dessert, I baked a chocolate sheet cake. This cake is so delicious! We started making it a few years ago and it has become an October tradition.
