Our Homeschool Plans for the Christmas Season

I’m so excited to share what we have planned for our homeschool over the next month. While we always do many fun and exciting Christmas activities throughout the month of December, I really wanted our homeschool to be filled with intentional activities that help us focus on the true meaning of the season. While we love using The Good and the Beautiful Curriculum throughout the year, switching over to “Christmas School” is just what we need!

This year, we’ll be spending several weeks using A Connected Christmas from Treehouse Schoolhouse. I was so excited to order this curriculum and can already tell that it is going to be such a lovely change of pace for our homeschool. I’ve spent the past week preparing for the included lessons by gathering the needed craft supplies, books etc. I was able to purchase all but one book from amazon and Christianbook.com. I love that the curriculum PDF included links to YouTube read alouds for each book, just in case you’re unable to find or purchase a copy of one of the needed books. The included teacher guide is easy to follow and lays out each day clearly.

Since this will be the main focus of our schooling over the month of December, I really wanted to make every activity as special as possible and enjoy it to the fullest. I chose to wrap each days book and place them in a basket so my boys can enjoy unwrapping one each day as they anticipate what story we’ll be diving into. We have also really enjoyed stories over tea in the past, so I purchased this fun woodland tea set to make our story time a little more magical. We love having tea, hot cocoa and magic milk (warmed milk with a touch of cinnamon and maple syrup). It’s not too late to start A Connected Christmas! You can also very easily arrange the daily activities to fit whatever schedule you desire for your weeks leading up to Christmas!
