    DIY Gingerbread House Garland

This year, I found myself leaning towards Christmas decor made up of simple greenery and mostly neutrals. I knew I wanted to incorporate gingerbread as well. I am passionate about baking, and Christmas cookies take me right back to childhood. My favorite of our Christmas traditions is decorating gingerbread houses together. There’s something so whimsical about them. Last week, I found myself staring at a stack of empty and broken down shipping boxes headed to recycling. I just knew they were perfect for a little DIY project. I love that the cardboard already resembles gingerbread, and you can customize it to use however you want. Use these little cuties to…

    Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup

The moment the air becomes cool and crisp outside, I find myself craving hearty bowls of soup with warm bread for dipping. This homestyle chicken soup is easy to make with simple ingredients and sure to please the pickiest of little ones. You can serve it up solo or pair it with crusty bread or rolls. 1. Drizzle 3 tablespoons olive oil in the bottom of a Dutch oven or large stockpot. 2. Wash and slice a small bag of baby carrots. You can most definitely use a bunch of regular carrots, I just happened to have baby carrots on hand. 3. Wash and slice an entire bunch of celery,…

A Children’s Space Filled with Christmas Cheer

Hi friends, I’m so excited to share the beginning of our Christmas home tour with you. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year and it takes everything in me to wait until after Halloween to begin decorating. I have such sweet childhood memories of Christmas. I so vividly remember the magic I felt as I stared at tiny lit up holiday villages and figurines. I spent hours on our living room floor, admiring the collection of whimsical and handmade ornaments that covered my parents tree each year. My love of all things Christmas began as a small child and has followed into my adult years. I feel so much…

    Chicken Lime Soup

Chicken lime soup, a dinner my entire family looks forward to. This recipe has slowly been adjusted over the years and into one of our very favorite meals. It’s hearty and filling and can be easily adjusted to fit your family’s preferences. 1. Add 3 tablespoons olive oil to a large stock pot or Dutch oven. 2. Chop one medium sized onion and add to pot. 3. Wash and chop an entire bunch of celery, add to pot. Over the years, I have stopped removing the leaves from celery. They add great texture and flavor. 4. Sauté over medium heat until fragrant and onions are translucent. 5. Add 2 cans…

    Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Hi friends, today I wanted to share a delicious and decadent oatmeal recipe that has quickly become a breakfast staple in our house this fall. It’s hearty, wholesome, creamy and can be whipped up in about 15 minutes from start to finish. It’s the perfect quick breakfast for those chilly fall mornings. My boys squeal in excitement when I serve it up and I feel good about them eating it. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! 1. Wash and dice four to five medium apples. I love to use Honeycrisps for this but you can absolutely use your favorite apple variety. I dice the apples on…

    Halloween Gingerbread House

We are deep into home project mode this fall after our recent move across country. I decided to keep our fall decorations simple and minimal, bringing in cozy vibes with neutrals, textured fabrics, wheat stems and a few white pumpkins. I plan to add a few fun Halloween touches as it nears to make things a little more whimsical for the boys. One of our favorite holiday traditions is creating gingerbread houses. Although gingerbread houses are something typically made around Christmas, they can be so fun to decorate for other holidays too. I knew this would be the perfect addition to our simple Halloween decor. Since my boys are 3…

    Easy Pumpkin Smoothies

Happy Monday, friends! The weather is finally showing signs of fall and we spent the weekend working on multiple home projects. Sean has worked so hard to begin bringing my vision for this house to life and I’m so thankful. Over the past two weeks, he’s shiplapped our dining room, kitchen and the boys room. Yesterday, he spent the entire day outside putting some of the final touches on our fence. I had my heart set on a white farmhouse X style fence and he absolutely nailed it. I’m loving the milder temps and being able to have the windows wide open while he’s outside working. Now, I just need…
