My Favorite Christmas Decor Essentials

Although we’re still in the first week of November, Christmas will be here before we know it. I wanted to share a few of my favorite Christmas decor pieces that never fail me. Christmas time is my all time favorite holiday, it’s just so magical to me. When choosing decor, I aim to find pieces that I love, are timeless and can be used year after year regardless of what color scheme I may decide on. The past few years, I’ve found myself gravitating towards a lot of greenery, handmade items and a Scandinavian Christmas vibe. Below are nine things I’ve used in my own home and absolutely love!

1. Christmas wreath with bells

This wreath is such a pretty shade of green, well made, includes a hanging loop on the back, and the gold bells really add something special. I’ve used this both on my front door and above our bed the past few years and it’s holding up perfectly.

2. Faux leather advent calendar

If you’re looking for a neutral advent calendar that actually has pockets big enough to fit small packages, candy or cards in, this is it. I love the ivory leather look and simple design. I purchased this last month and can’t wait to stuff it with goodies and fun Christmas activities for my little guys.

3. Faux cedar Christmas tree

This Christmas tree is a splurge, but if you’re in the market for a new tree and want something a little out of the ordinary, this is such a great option. I was shocked by how easy it is to assemble and the tiny fairly lights are so pretty. This tree is excellent quality and I can tell we’ll be able to use it for many years. It’s beautiful!

4. Black velvet ribbon

I love adding pretty ribbons to wreaths, stockings, greenery, ornaments and presents. I love this solid black velvet ribbon against greenery and kraft wrapping paper. Pretty ribbons can really add a special touch and dress things up a bit. At the end of the season, I untie all the ribbons, iron if needed and fold them neatly in ziploc bags for the next year. Taking a few minutes to do this each year keeps me from having to spend money on the same thing year after year.

5. Mini Faux cedar wreath

These mini wreaths are adorable tied to the backs of bar stools or dining chairs. They’re simple, a beautiful shade of green and super affordable. I’ve tied them to the back of our bar stools the past three years and they instantly dress up our kitchen island.

6. Printable Christmas art

This little art print is a gem I found just a few weeks back and I’m so excited to use it. It’s perfect for Christmas decor and can be left up all winter. I’m using it to replace a more colorful framed photo in my kitchen. After the holidays are over, I’ll just rotate it to the back of the frame and it will be ready to use again next year. I highly recommend checking out this awesome small shop. They’ve got so many beautiful and affordable art options.

7. Cable knit stockings

When I purchased this set of four cable knit stockings three years ago, I was sure it was too good to be true at under $20 for the whole set. Well, they’re just as great as they look. It’s a solid and sturdy stocking with no seams to unravel. They’re stretchy and have a ribbon hanging loop. I love to tie ribbons and mini bells around the bottom of the hanging loops.

8. Vintage brass bells

This little set of bells goes a long way! I use several on my Christmas tree hung from standard ornament hooks, tie them to empty wrapped packages for decor and add them to the tops of our stockings. They’re so versatile and can be used in so many different ways.

9. Eucalyptus, berry and holly garland

It can be difficult to find good quality faux greenery for a reasonable price. I snagged two of these garlands from Hobby Lobby a few years back and they’re amazing. They come with faux red berries, so I just snipped those off to get the look I wanted. They’re full and very realistic. I was careful to purchase them on a week when Christmas decor was fifty percent off.
